Minimum wage updating every year. Constant change is what drives us, challenges us and helps us contain chaos in daily operations.

We've always consciously followed the law and found that the way to do it efficiently is to standardise where it can — same processes, same data model, same logic — and localises where the law requires.  This way you can create an efficient, trusted and consistent system.

Where we’re from

Founded in Riga. Built across four cities.

If you've worked with us before, you'll know the company as AGroup, and the platform as HRB Portal. We were founded in Rīga in 2008, building on a product whose first version was in development from the early 2000s — first for a single Baltic enterprise, then for a handful, then for many.

Polish operations followed in 2011. By 2017, Lithuania was localised, Telia was onboarded, the Baltic platform was live. In 2023, we joined Everfield, a European software group founded in 2022.

Today, our offices are in Rīga and Warszawa. Our customers are across Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland. Several hundred thousand employees are paid through Hermetis every month.

Hermetis is created by former HR and payroll professionals working alongside specialists in IT, security, and compliance.

Around 30 of us, across Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Poland. Like you do.

A project manager who learns your structure

From the first conversation, you have a project manager who learns your structure, your country mix, your constraints. Not a sales handoff to a portal. Most of our customers stay with the same PM through their first year, and many of them through year three.

Compliant first

Then optimised – never the other way round

When a customer asks us to do something – speed up onboarding, restructure reporting across countries, register a new entity with ZUS or VID – our first move is to find the path that's compliant in every jurisdiction it touches. Then we optimise for the customer's actual operations. We don't ship workarounds and let the customer find the compliance gap later.

Not just executing what's asked

A real partner helps you think through structural decisions, not just resolve tickets. When a Polish entity reorganises its reporting lines, when an Estonian payroll process needs new approval steps, when a holding company changes country mix — we work through what it means with you, before you commit. Then the product follows. Not the other way around.

Professional Services

Implementation, run by people who've done the work themselves.

Our Head of Product and Professional Services spent years in senior HR roles at large companies before joining us. That matters. It shapes what we build, how we scope implementations, and what we explain versus what we take for granted. The rest of the implementation team is staffed the same way — practitioners first, configurators second.

From contract to go-live, you work with one Hermetis team. We don't subcontract. The PM you meet at the start is the one you work with all the way through hypercare.

Customer Support

After go-live, you're not explaining payroll to support.

A large part of our customer support team has worked in HR or payroll roles before joining Hermetis. When you ask why a calculation looks the way it does, the person answering has done the job themselves — closed payroll cycles, tracked probation periods, handled cross-border transfers, navigated audits.

You're talking to someone who already speaks the language. The questions you don't have to explain are the ones that take the most time elsewhere.

In 2024, Hermetis joined Everfield — a European software group founded in 2022, with 38 portfolio companies across the Baltics, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, the UK, France, and Spain. Everfield was set up to own software companies for the long term, not to flip them — built on the idea that European B2B software is stronger when companies share infrastructure, expertise, and capital.

What this means for our customers and our team: Hermetis stays Hermetis. Same product, same people, same direction. What changed in 2024 is who stands behind us — a wider group of specialists in operations, security, compliance, and finance, available when we need them.

It also means we're plainly, structurally European — owned by a European group, governed in Europe, operating across European jurisdictions. For HR and payroll software, that matters.
